Do you really believe God loves you? Just as you are, right now? Or do you doubt it sometimes?
Do you ever think He’s uninterested or disappointed in you? Or worse, just fed up, angry, and done with you?
Do you feel stuck, dry, or exhausted spiritually?
My answer to these questions, more often than I’m willing to admit, is Yes. I’m willing to bet you’re not too different than me. Maybe you want to grow in your relationship with God, but you don’t know what to do or where to begin. Maybe you need help overcoming a sin struggle. Or you’re going through some pain or a trial, and you’re just trying to make sense of it.
James wrote, “we all stumble in many ways” (James 3:2). He also wrote that God “gives us more grace” (James 4:6). We all have our stumbling points, our areas of sin, our pain and suffering, and our constant temptations, trials, doubts, and moments of weariness and exhaustion.
God’s grace is there for each one.
Grace: The Key to Our Growth & Healing
I believe the grace of God is the key to all of our spiritual growth, healing, and more. Grace is the most beautiful, life-changing, amazing truth in the world. It is an inexhaustible well and our greatest treasure. The Bible refers to it as “the immeasurable riches of His grace” (Ephesians 2:7). Yet, it is the most neglected and untapped resource in the universe.
The Bible says, “It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace” (Hebrews 13:9). All our growth and healing and maturity begins with grace. Not by trying harder, making a to-do list, beating ourselves up, making promises we won’t keep, or developing a better plan. We need to surrender and ask for God’s help, trust that He will meet us where we are, and give us the grace to move forward.
So if you want to grow spiritually, if you want to overcome a sin in your life, or make sense of your suffering, or deepen your relationships, or get rid of the anger and bitterness in your heart … if you ever struggle to believe God is good and actually loves you, right now, right where you are, with all your faults and failures … then I believe we must start with grace. As the apostle Paul often started in his letters … “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:7).
There is grace for you and me every single day, every single moment. My prayer for this page, and eventually the book, is that we’ll look to God’s Word together and explore what His grace means for our lives – and that by accepting His grace, our hearts and lives would change both here and for eternity.
I hope this site encourages you and that you’ll follow along and join me as we explore God’s grace together.
Until the book is completed, please follow along on this site and join me on the Accepting Grace social media channels.
